Welcome to St. Lucia Community Healthcare Programs
The vision of St Lucia is that all Tanzanians have access to quality preventive and palliative health and social services that are affordable and culturally sensitive. To fulfill its mission, St Lucia:
- Focuses its efforts on the most vulnerable groups: young children, pregnant women, those suffering with HIV/AIDS, malaria, TB and other chronic diseases
- Works continuously to strengthen the capacity of families and communities to care for the health and welfare of their members
- Shares its knowledge and offers practical, achievable solutions
- Partners with both public and private sectors in the provision of health education and services
- Aligns its strategies with national health policy goals and objectives
- Provides a home, and holistic care for acutely ill children and adults, who have been abandoned or stigmatized by their family members and for whom there is no community-based alternative
- Assists the terminally ill to die with dignity in a physically and spiritually caring environment
